How much does a Factorio server cost?
Billed hourly by RAM size, from ฿0.50 an hour at 2 GB, only while the server is online, and never more than ฿7 per 24-hour round or ฿149 per 1-month round. Within each round, the system picks the cheaper one for you. With auto-sleep on, billing stops the moment everyone disconnects, and the server wakes itself again on the next connection.
How much RAM do I need?
Factorio needs at least 2GB RAM. A bigger factory or more players benefits from picking a larger size, so saves keep loading and simulating smoothly.
Can I set a join password?
Yes — set an optional join password from the settings tab; leave it blank to skip the password gate. Note the server also requires a verified factorio.com account to join by default — turn that off from the same settings tab if you would rather skip it.
How do friends join?
Copy the server address (and password, if you set one) from the dashboard, then paste the address into Factorio's "Connect to address" multiplayer screen.
Does this server sleep when nobody's playing?
Yes, once you turn it on — auto-sleep must be enabled in the server's Settings tab first (it's off by default). With it on, the server tracks the real player count and sleeps once everyone disconnects, so those hours are never billed. The first connect after a sleep wakes it again; give it a minute and reconnect.
